Lock in what you actually agreed to
A consent receipt is a portable, primary-source record of which version of Merriam-Webster's policy you accepted. It embeds the hash of that version, so if Merriam-Webster later asserts you agreed to different terms, you have proof to the contrary. Save the JSON. Print the text. Keep both.
